Ethiopia
In 2015 I was lucky enough to assist David Prior on a Heineken photoshoot in Ethiopia, the shoot was a three day job and we had received a full months visa which i intended to take full advantage of. Aschalew our Heineken representative from Ethiopia agreed to help me with the request to assist me in buying a horse from a livestock market in Assalah. After a hilarious episode of me trying out many horses, bartering and getting a saddle fitted i was on my way through the Ethiopian country side going nowhere other than south armed with the translation of a few key words North - Dabu South - samin Horse - sagure/gadissa Horse grass feed - Faran en sar labula Sleep over - asa durunee/nabulcha I spent two weeks on horseback depending on the kind heartedness of Ethiopians to allow me to sleep in their villages, eat with them and sell me feed for my horse The journey was a spectacular experience and i learned to live and love all the people of this blessed land.
